[BaadAssGremlins] Novice question again

I asked previously about a good manual tranny for the 401 and Bart 
recommended the BW T10. I've started looking around and am not sure 
about what price to pay. But it appears I won't get one of those right 
away. 

So, here's a question from a novice again. Davis, you mentioned a 
manual reverse valve body and a stall converter for the 727. What is 
the valve body for and what does the stall converter do? Which brands 
are good and which ones should you stay away from? I have the 401 also.
