Re: [BaadAssGremlins] Re: My Gremlin

There was not only sunroofs for early Gremmies, but also vinyl tops up until 1976. This 72 for instance sports a oddball rollback roof:

A close up of the large rollback sunroof:

Great interior shot of the rollback roof, actual ad:

A nice set up hubcaps:

And the weird vinyl roof:

A 72 with the roof again, note the strip kit is almost identical to the NOS 72 kit I just sold on ebay for $29:

According to the Dealers Salesmans Accessory Guide, the vinyl roof was NOT a option anymore on 1977 models, it ended in 1976.

Not True, My wife's '76 Levi Gremlin had a factory vinyl top and what you have is not the same, unless they changed the tooling. I will try and find an original picture and scan it for everyone. Her '76 was white with a dark blue vinyl material that almost matched the Levi material used on the seats and door panel inserts (the later cars w/Levi's option had a different shade of blue '73 and '74 had a lighter shade, I don't know about '75). The factory vinyl top extended to the back edge of the roof with metal extensions to the drip rail.   Gary

Hi Terry,
This was a factory option in '73. There were very few that were sold with it
though. I have
seen one other Gremlin with a Vinyl top in Phoenix at a Cactus Cruisers Meet. I
think it was
only available in '73(at least according to the American Motors Standard
Catalog.
