CAMERO!!!!!! I don't think so. That would be the same as me owning a Ricer. It works for some but not me. Even being severely disabled now and with the large amount of tax free money I got last june I still do most of my own work and what I don't do I look over the shoulder of the person doing it. I tell people anyone can build a Chevy with deep pockets and a catalog, it takes a real man to build an AMC. I have been taking pic's of the progress and will have them posted when I am done. The slow progress due to a multitude of things has me frustrated. But I am still plugging away at it. Later I am off to my friends shop with the new drivers side rear panel. "Doc" Yahoo! AMC74HORNET@xxxxxxxxx wrote:What I thought would be a 1/2 hour to 1 hour job took almost 3 to
install the pass side rear door panel. I made these panels completely
from scratch using an old original one from my yellow car for a
template. The pass door panel just about popped in and was a perfect
fit, the pass rear one was a fight. I am using original factory clips to
hold the panels on not like some custom interior builders that use trim
screws. I was slightly off on the mounting holes for 2 clips and
couldn't get them to line up with the holes in the body no matter how
hard I tried. with the other 5 clips the panel fit nice but I had to do
somthing about the 2 missing ones so I added a piece of 2 sided exterior
carpet tape in place of the clips. It was that or nothing. I also had to
drill one new hole for the factory chrome trim screw that holds the door
panel at the very back to the hatch panel because of the extra paddling
on my custom panels. What a pain but the results once you looked at it
is beautiful. Today I will attempt to install the drivers side rear
panel. I hope this one will go in without a problem. Yea right fat
chance. Everything I have done on this car in the last 18 months since I
bought it has been a fight.
