Speking of cars left outside, Bart, what ever happened to the world's
fastest lawn ornament Gremlin you have/had? :~))>
And while we are talking about AMC theft, my dad, who is 78 now, years ago,
left his 76 Pacer running outside on the street in Corpus Christi, TX. We lieve
only two blocks from the CCPD station on Brownlee,a nd well, only one block from
the Star of Hope homeless mission. He had forgotten something in the house and
ran back in to get it, only to come back out and see his Pacer puttering down
the street. This is a photo of dad with his "new" 70 BBB Javelin I had given
him, the Pacer was stolen in exactly the same spot on Antelope St next to
I-37:
The Pacer was a crime of opportunity, stolen by a homeless person who
probably could have slept a family of six in it. The Pacer was never seen again.
My dad filed a theft report same day, and he said that the cops at the front
desk asked him 'if he had paind someone to steal a Pacer' guffawing and
chortling the whole time. Dad was a ex CCPD sargent too and pointed himself out
on one of the photos of cops on the wall, so they stopped laughing....sort of.
Dad had a laugh with them, but the car was never seen again, and he said that
chances are they weren't going to look for a AMC anyhows. That coming from not
only a ex cop, but ex AMC employee of 18 years. :~((>
I think Paige would pay someone to come steal some of the 14 AMCs I have
right now, she would probably help them load them too while I'm at work:
