I don't think the 199 used a 'special' trans...dunno...look into the 
4cyl cars and see what tranny they're runnin...if they run a 904 or 
something that was behind a 6er than yer good...

I think its an AUDI designed motor...

BTW: why would anyone put in a 4banger?...less cyls don't mean more 
fuel mileage...
