Rod, I'm all for altered AMCs even though not everyone else is. Would rather 
see one altered AMC than one in the crusher. Speaking of the form letter I 
mentioned, this is a copy of a form letter I send out DAILY to people who 
either ask for stuff I don't stock or have, or models I don't specialize in 
either, or some models I can't spell like Broughhham.

While I don't specialize in your particular year or model, (I mostly fool
with 68-74 AMX/Javelin the past 20+ years, although I own a dozen non
AMX/Javs like Rebel, Matador, Hornet SC/360, Eagles!) What I CAN do for you
is post your request at the www.amcforum.net website, as there are a lot of
really helpful folks there who may be able to either get your part, or point
you in the right direction. This is your direct link in case anyone replies:

Vendors List on my website, which has been a staple since the early 90s and
is the AMC  & Rambler Vendors list on the internet!! SUGGESTION would
be to make yourself up a shopping list of items you need, in order of
priority
before calling. *Note a email is NOT a guarantee of a reply! So call if it

average but if they have it, then buy it as this stuff has gotten impossible
to find
20, 30, 40 years later and many junkyards are crushing their old car due to
the price of steel being paid by Chinese, $175-$200 a ton;
and changing and restrictive enviromental legislation putting many
junkyards and salvage operations out of business! Another place you can
contact is:

 SUGGESTION: I usually
tell people to make themselves a "wish list" or "wanted list" in order of
priority so that when they call, write or fax, they have the list handy and
hopefully can get price quotes if the things are available!

The reason behind this is that I get my butt hammered here with a staggering 
20-50 emails per day. Not all rich Nigerians either! So I try to help them 
out by posting their request on the www.amcforum.net; my own website now 
under 'message boards' and, also, if it applies, I forward it to 'Bart's 
Groupo' here. Why? The sheer exposure! The more people know some poor AMC 
Soul is looking for a item the better chances of finding it, whether it is a 
car, literature, parts.

So hats off to Bart here and all who contribute in their own way. It is what 
makes this group special you know. And sometimes that little small part can 
mean the difference.
