Delco Installation Finished

Well the Delco is finally in the car and working.
After drilling out the Motorola fan to fit the Delco alt. and modifying
the "C" Bracket so the alt could be pushed closer to the block and then
installing a 5/8 inch shorter belt it finally fits and clears the
steering box with the same clearance as the Motorola did and that was by
1/4". I did not hook up the idiot light and temporarily installed a
cheap volt meter. Since the car was apart I had a new water pump
installed and a new radiator. Turns out the new radiator was the wrong
one so we installed the old one back in but it was just about shot and
upon re-installation it now leaks. I went and got a used Concord one I
had in my storage space and it has to have the brackets reversed because
it does not fit either. I dropped it at the radiator shop to have it
done and checked out and it will be done monday so maybe the car will be
done completely tuesday. We ran the car for a minute and according to
the volt meter the alt. charges and clears everything and makes no
noise. So this is a good sign. This alt. installation has been going on
for almost a month and now the radiator problem. Also the trans is
slipping again between shifts. It doesn't show a leak on the ground but
when I had this slippage problem 1 1/2 months ago it was 1 1/2 quarts
low on transmission fluid. This car is starting to frustrate me. Also I
was charged a 20% restocking charge by the place that my local auto
parts store got the radiator from even though it was the wrong one. The
auto parts store had no control over that but did refund the shipping
charge to me. I hope everyone has had a better week than I have had.
