Rambler-fanatics, rejoice. You may recall the AMC List recently had a thread concerning the lack of representation that the 'grocery-getter' AMCs and Ramblers have at most shows, while powerhouse Javelins and AMXs abound. Here's a car that, while not, cheap, shouldn't be, and is a beautiful example of what AMC was really all about, and the kind of car that kept them afloat for years. This thing deserves to make the rounds at the shows. And if your State has a 'film commission', this thing should be registered with them so that it can appear in area film projects requiring 'real cars of the mid-1970s'. Imagine how neat this will look in a driveway during a movie about the late-1970s. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2488864482 Aside from an automatic transmission, this '77 Hornet 2-door sedan is as basic as they came. 232-1v engine, Manual brakes and steering, dog dish caps, split-bench, No AC, No Radio, No Vinyl top......'no' nuthin'. And just 22,000 miles on it (yes, it was 'grandma's ride)! If the price tag scares you, send her a note suggesting what you are willing to pay for it. If this were my kind of car, I wouldn't quibble, as the opening bid isn't very high at all considering the condition and mileage. Sure, you can get a nice X with a 304 for that amount, in nice shape, too. But there's a charm in this car you don't get with mags and stripes.
