Another time, I had to get stitches in my lip from a nasty collision during a Soccer game. I waited for 3 hours in the waiting area and another hour in the prep room. I got up to leave cuz I was tired of waiting and they FINALLY came to see me. Yet another time when I was run over by a car (broken ankle & severe lacerations on my backside) they made me wait on a gurney face down for 8 hours before seeing me. After sewing me up, they didn't operate on my ankle (needed screws to put it back together) for another day and a half! > > Now I only go to City Hospital.. you actually get service at a decent time. > > I swear, some nurses are IV happy. I spent 32 hours in the hospital of which the first 8 hours were in the Emergency room for a !@#$%^ blood test. The results were that it is not my heart but I have other muscular problems that raised some certain enzymes in my blood that could damage my kidneys so they put 2 quarts of somthing via an IV into me to flush me out. I have to go to the dr's office monday for a follow up and a trip to some specialist. I have had some terrible muscle cramps as of late. Anyhow it took 2 hours before they took my blood tuesday night and 5 hours before the results came back and another hour to get me into a bed. When I got there they asked me how I got there. I said I drove my Chevy. Alone ? no my wife was with me and she dosent drive. How are you going to get home? Duh inn my Chevy which security parked in the hosptal parking lot in a handicapped spot, I have a handicapped parking permit. A half hour before the the IV was to be removed I felt a pain in my hand with the IV in it and it was swolled up like a balloon. The needle slipped out of the vein and was depositing the fluid into my hand and lower arm under the skn. I am so happy to be home and out of that place and am just a little weak from all this. > "Doc" > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Yahoo! Groups Links I too hate them Hospitals. Due to the closeing of 3 local hospitals in a 25 mile radius everyone comes to the one I was at. Fortunately it is only 2 1/2 mies from where I live and easy for my wife to get to. But when I went there 4:15 pm tuesday afternoon there was almost no one there!!! patient wise!!! Due to the weather I am going to rest till monday. I was hopeing to get more work done on the orange car this week but I guess I can forget about it. Next week is going to be a wash out work wise as I have to see the Dr. on monday, and have a bunch of business to take care of for my mother. I need some welding done on the yellow car and will see if I can get that done tuesday. My welder friend was in the hospital last week so I couldn't get it done. He said to call him monday to see about doing it tuesday. It is only a minor job that he should be able to do in 1/2 hour. This man is some welder as he has been doing it for almost 50 years. I got parts I ordered for the orange car to pickup too that came in. My brother is comeing in from Arizona with his step daughter this thursday and we have business to take care of. So most of the week is shot. At least please let it not rain next week. It will be nice to drive my Hornets again as I have been driveing my Chevy for the last few days. "Doc"
