I had the drain on the pass side door pillar clog up so when it rained the water from the cowl filled up the lower part of the pillar and also over flowed onto the floor on my yellow car. It did a fair amount of damage to the floor but really messed up the door pillar. Luckily on the 79 Concord sedan I parted out I removed the section of the door pillar and used it as a patch panel. Once you start takeing things apart on an old car you always find more surprizes than you expect. I say if the rust is not a saftey issiue put the fenders on and drive it for the summer and make the rust repair a winter project. Also if you don't know how to do the repair yourself learn and do it yourself.
