Low Budget Stainless Trim Polishing Tips

I don't know how but the stainless trim around the rear window was scratched like it had been hit with 80# sandpaper in spot's. Useing 800# sandpaper to remove the scartches and then 1000# sandpaper and then Crocous cloth, I finished off with Mothers Mag Wheel & Aluminum Polish. The stainless looks like new now. It is only half way done with 3 hours labor and 12$ in materials (12$ should do all the stainless on the whole car). I'll finish the rear window stainless up tomorrow and move onto the drip rails and the windshield stainless trim weather permitting. So here's a good low buck tip for you guys that works. It is cheap on materials, but big on the amount of labor required, but "BIG" on visiual impact. Just cause I got a few bucks now to spend on my cars dosen't mean I am giveing up my old ways of saveing money on restoring things that I am physically able to still do myself. The 60$ I paid the guy to polish out the car last saturday was just to get the major amount of labor done and clean up the car. Now I will tweek his job to the max on the nice weather days. Although I have some major cash now I don't see a paint job for this car in the imediate future, this will be my driver. Happy polishing everyone!!!
