As much as you may wish you had a 401, they are getting harder to find. Use 
the money you would spend to aquire a rebuildable 401 and spend it on your 360. 
You'll be suprised with the power you will get out of the 360 powerplant.

Yes i agree far too long the 390 or 401 has been touted as the soul engines you can get lots of powere out of in the AMC world.my 360 is bored .60 over.has aftermarket forged 11 1/2 to 1 comp pistons nice big hyd 305 dur 540 lift comp cam and has been built up pretty good for prob a lil over 400 HP.i am hoping with my combo along with my Borg Warner T10 4 sped and my 4.56 gears and some other body modes i.e removing heavy uneeded parts i will be in the low 12's/high 11's all motor
