That's some short stretch. I always worked on the flight line in the
Navy. The first 2 1/2 years as a plane captain on E-2 Hawkeye early
warning planes. They were the Navy's version of the Air Forces AWAC. The
last 1 1/2 years I was in charge of ground support equiptment at a helo
squadron and never went to sea again. The only thing I missed about
going to sea was that hazardous duty pay for working on the flight deck.
In the late 60's an extra 55$ a month was big money if you were in the
militarty. Do you qualify for a pension? I don't know what I would do if
I couldn't get my perscriptions from the VA.

left my brand new 65 440 Twin Stick American home when I joined. In 67
when I was in the Med we stopped in Athens and I saw a 65 American 4
door taxi at the Acpopolus, it made me home sick. Then the Arab/Isreally
war started and the Greeks over through the king so I didn't have time
to be home sick anymore. I was to busy working on my plane on the flight
deck 12 hours a day for 30 days straight at time. Some times we were on
5 min. alert and slept in the plane.

Doc, Try either Hawaii or Panama, both were nice for me in the service

bad because it is a dry heat. Dry/Humid it's still 115. I need a place
where it stays 70 dureing the day and with moderate humidity with maybe
45-50 degree nights. Yea I know I am dreaming.
