comp 270H / 280H for my 401



Would like opinions/suggestions. Building a 401 for our 74 AMX(i 
know..NOT a Gremmmie). Need suggestions!!Specs...Bored .030,venolia 
pistons..will be 9:5/1.Heads are pocket ported,polished,2.08 intake 
valves,all valves stainless, 1.7 roller rockers,Offenhauser dual quad 
intake manifold with two 500 cfm Carter competition series 
carbs ,Headers,Petronix ignitorII with re-curved dist, 727 A/T. Stock 
converter so far!Can use what ever rear gear. Spec's for the 270H cam 
SEEM REALLYY MILD!! What about stepping up to the 280H????? Won't it 
work with a stock converter?Small stall? I've heard guys "SAY" they 
used the 280H with stock converter..NO PROB at all?? Are they 
pulling my leg? I want it to sound REAL MEAN!! It's the Only AMC 
near us!!BUTTT i don't want a SLUG when i nail it! I KNOW...dual 
quads?????? Well HECK...they look REALLY COOL at cruise night!!!! 
Anyway..please send suggestions.....as my 401 is about to be
