Strange story as my new Hornet came from a police impound yard too. The
owner previous to the guy I bought my car from was locked up for DWI
and the car was impounded. The guy I bought it from who had it for 4
years got it at a police auction. Where are they going to race it? Are
they from N.J.?

Tubbed?no its running 10 inch tires story goes it was in a police impound yard somewhere in Jersey and Fran and a few of his cousins all went together on the car.the Hornet was already a hot rod the 360 in it was modded,had worn out slicks and it had some drag race interior pieces and Fran and a few of his friends cleaned it up some and now its ready for action.I sure wish Fran would post and give us the whole skinny on his car :(

Now you know I am partial to this car since I got two 74 hatchbacks. If
this one is orange, I can't tell if it is red or orange by the pic's
with the black pinstripe with the tan interior, it is the same color &
interior as my new Hornet. You don't see many Hornet Hatchbacks around
and it looks like a complete car with the normal AMC rust issiues.  I
was lucky as mine was a Florida car and I only have to deal with dings
and dents. A little body work and some paint to go with the 360 and you
got one sweet track car there. What are they running for a trans and
rear? is it tubbed?

As you may all know Fran Carpio,owner of'The AMC Forum'is a member here and he and his cousins have been working hard on a 74?Hornet hatchback drag car they went together on and its now ready for the track.check out the latest pics of thier car in the pics section,looking good Fran'thumbs up'
