For those of you ignorant of the Gremlin diecasts that DO exist, I'll mention this one ( and others ), many of you probably don't know of it's existance. There is an old metal diecast with great detailing , made by Polistil of Italy, that is 1/43 scale, and looks very nice. A few of these run on Ebay every now and then ( I'm bidding on one now , a green one ). Unfortunately, they can be pricey, anywhere from $20 to $75 for mint versions. I currently have a silver one, and I think a blue one. This is the ONLY Gremlin in metal of any quality detail that I know of. The Johan dealership models are plastic and hard to find, there are several other Gremlin cars I'll list here for your seaching pleasure :) - Tonka Gremlin ( bright green only , all metal ) 5" - Tootsietoy Gremlin ( metal, kinda crude, but cheap )4" - Hot Wheels Gremlin Grinder (2, chrome and green ) - Hot Wheels Greased Gremlin ( red and yellow )dirt car - Hot WHeels Openfire 6-wheeled Gremlin, rare and expensive! - Polistil AM Gremlin, 5",all metal, VERY detailed, an export from Italy, so rather expensive. That takes care of my knowledge of metal Gremlins. For plastic, here's some I know of : - Simms Gremlin, about 8" in size approx ( still don't have one of these yet ) - Mini Lindy, VERY detailed, hard to find, pricey, bigger than Matchbox and Hotwheels slightly - Shamrock slot car Gremlin, white with green accents.Tyco - Super Gremlin slot car, yellow and black. Tyco - Sportsmen slot car, Matchbox ( yes, they made slot cars briefly ) yellow dirt track Gremlin, like Greased Gremlin - 1/4 mile slot car Gremlin, only seen one on Ebay, HO scale. Not sure who made it. I don't have one. - old Parma Whomp-whomp Gremlin, dirt track style, 1/32nd scale. kinda pricey, $30+ . - Water diver Gremlin, by Rough Riders. runs underwater. very unusual, 70's era. I do have one. I think that covers my knowledge ( that I remember, anyway! ) of Gremlin models. I won't go into the 1/25th scale plastic models, I don't know all of them, I do have a few, but not in my general knowledge area. Revell, mostly, I think, or MPC. Anyway, I'd like a 1/18th scale Gremlin, maybe it'll eventually happen. With Jada and other upstart diecast makers coming on strong, maybe we can get them to do independent car makers. Heck , Studebakers, Tuckers, and even Delorean's are being made, maybe there's hope for the Gremlin yet! Jerry Casper __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
