Judge ruled that the testing would have to come back. He said they must have a plan in effect by March 1 to bring it back. The Mayor said that it could be solved some other way and said he ordered the local pollution people to comewith a plan to give to the Federal EPA. He said that car testing as we knew it would never come back. Just in the last few days the Indiana legislators over ruled the Governors Veto and said if Kentucky was not going to have theirs then Indiana would end theirs in 2006. I will let you know what happens I just hope they have enough since to not bring it back even though the Federal judge didn't have that much since.
Oh yea Doc we used to have a safety inspection in the 60's and 70's. I think it lasted about 10 years. It was done by private garages. I used to have by car done legally every year until one year they failed an old van I had because it didn't have the plastic covers on the turn signals. They worked but they just had amber bulbs but no lenses. After that I did like every one else did. I gave my uncle an extra $10.00 and he got me a sticker from some garage in the country. When they stopped it they said the cops were going to randomly inspect cars but they never did. The safety inspection made more since than the polution test to me. One reason that stoppedit they said too many people were buying indentical cars and changing everything from tires to windsheild wippers to get both of them to pass.
