sorry that wasn't entirely true, I also used the bracket and dust shield to mount the calipers. The spindles do look the same.

You said you could only use the spindles. I have a set of spindles from an AMC disc brake set-up. If I remember correctly, when I had them next to the drum spindles from my '72, they were identical.
