I also forwarded him a 'quick list' of things I commonly look for in salvage yards. This is a real incomplete list, however, some of the most desirable things he can pick up to resell and make some money for his time and effort pulling them. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Eddie Stakes" <eddiestakes@xxxx> To: "J Johnson" <imfatdad@xxxx> Sent: Sunday, January 04, 2004 11:42 AM Subject: junkyarding Hi folks, something you might consider is printing those requests and taking them with you to the salvage yard to see what is/isn't avaialbe or condition and writing notes next to each request, something I do here! Also, while Brian has already mentioned a few things, these are more items you need to check out and see if they can be bought reasonably from the yard: mirrors/driver side and especially passenger side exteriors grills just about any year or model AM/FM, or AM/8track, or AMC "logoed" radios three spoke, rim blow and unusual "good condition" steering wheels tailights exterior door handles, and interior door handles pre-1974 interior rear view mirror unusual options like vanity mirrors, tissue dispensers three core radiators consoles between seats three hole gauges on Grem/Horn/Conc series upper crash pads in good shape, all models windshields in the Ambo/Mats (interchange with Machine) armrests in pre 74 AMCs inclduign all you listed Pacer headlight surrounds and grills any tachometers any unusual gauges like Rally Pack in Pacer, Matador anything in the American that will interchange with SC/Rambler I did a huge list like this awhile back for those hitting salvage yards, it is in somewhere if you search, probably last year I guess, maybe should have saved it! Good luck in the junkyard, hopefully many of the pieces you get here you can resell at profit and use that money on your own 'AMC keeper' Eddie Stakes www.planethoustonamx.com
