I can vouce for the AMC quality of build. I had a friend with a restoration shop. I have worked on AMCs, Jaguars, Fords, Lincolns, MGs, Mercurys, and Chevys, Cadillacs, and even an old Henry J.........the AMCs were unbelievably stout.

When I had my Gremlin down to the bare minimum I added a few welds to the structure around the shock towers and to the unibody under the car. I reallydidn't need to, I just did since I was at a point when I could.

I think I may have a spare center piece for the Hornet dash. I would be glad to send it to ya if needed. Let me know.
