For all those putting a 727 tranny in a Gremlin, read this.

Hi all,

Bart and I have already gone thru this problem. I did some research
today and came to the conclusion that AMC did not make a driveshaft
for a Gremlin with a 727 tranny. The biggest factory engine that was
put in was a 304. Every TSM that I looked at (71-76) said that the
304 had optional Automatic tranny, but it was usually a 998. A 727
was NOT an option. I will check the 77-78 years too, but I'm sure
they will not yield new information concerning this.

>From my knowledge, AMC only put 727's on the 360-401s.
Therefore, if you plan to use a 727, you MUST shorten a driveshaft
from something else (that used an AMC20 rear and a 727).

If someone has conflicting informatin, please don't hesitate to let
us know!

Thanks.
