Don't respond to that stuff.  Spammers send out blanket emails to domains.  The people that respond to these types of email are confirmed as being valid email addresses.  Once confirmed, your address gets put on the "LIST" that can be sold or traded.

Also, when you get a "Joke" email from a friend that has been forwarded (like a hundred times), you'll notice that there are MANY email addresses in the message.  These emails are like gold to a spammer.  They harvest all the addresses and also add them to the "LIST".  Unfortunatly, it was likely a friend of yours that sent it to you and your address is already contained in the header of the email.  But by not passing it on, you at least protect the people in your Contacts or Address book that you were thinking of forwarding it to. (Every little bit of prevention helps)

The email below is called a "Nigerian Letter" scam.  If you want to take it the next step further, you can notify your Internet service provider or local police computer crimes department.  You likely won't get results, but at least somebody will be made aware.  An email like this might seem harmless, but its a crime waiting to happen.

Based on the information at the end of this email (gunsport.cz) I've been able to determine the following information. Basically, its the information of the spammers Internet Service Provider.  You might want to phone one of these guys up and blast them in person (assuming you know the correct Czech swear words)
Another trick is to FORWARD the spam to them (using a spoofed or fake email account) so they spam themselves :)

That is another sick twisted letter. I am tired of getting the emails 
from SunTrust, PayPal, and eBay saying that I need to verify my 
account by furnishing them with all my credit card, bank account, and 
PIN numbers not to mention my passwords and mother's maiden name! The 
return email address is phony and unsecured. I did have fun once 
filling in the blanks with some rather colorful language and 
returning it to the creeps. Eddie needs to teach us his internet 
espionage techniques! However, I think most of these predators use 
cyber cafes to perform their scam work, so I wonder if sending a 
zapper back to them really affects them at all? -Lu-
