This happened when I went to buy the Kammback Eagle. Forget the jump from the soleonoid and the one to the starter is a marginal test. I put in a new battery after scrubbing out the terminal clamps - car fired on second spin. You battery posts are probably corroded - they 'shell' with a glossy clearcoat that shuts off the electricity . Use that battery terminal cleaning tool with the wire bristle - and get those anti-corrosion felt rings from the AutoParts place : $0.99 . Also - som Di-electric grease to coat the posts AFTER you tighten the clamps. Clean ALL attatching points - then use the Grease as a protective barrier. Brien.
