[BaadAssGremlins] Are these Gremlin windows rare or what?

I don't think that I have seen, paid attention to, or heard of 
factory windows that pop out on the Gremlin like these:

Will someone please comment on them? Were they a factory option? Come 
on any specific versions? Are something that someone made as an after 
market product for the Gremlin?
