Re: [BaadAssGremlins] Re: Hornet X on eBay & reserve NOT met!!Wha?!?

Me I was lucky in one sense in that my 74 was originally a Florida car
and only has been in N.Y. for 6-7 years so it is 99% rust free. On a
resto job body work is usually just as expensive as the mechanical work
and even more sometimes. So I am ahead of the game on that. My problem
other than the 4 years of neglect by the previous owner is the interior
being cooked by the Florida sun and abuse by the former owner carrying
his kids muddy Go Kart in the car. I found all of the plastic parts I
needed from friends that gave them to me and bought the rest from guys
on the AMX Files and eBay. Interior work is also not cheap here in N.Y.
I got a price of 700$ to upholster the 2 bucket seats in my yellow car
and make a custom front carpet for it. I have a Hurst V-Matic 2 shifter
in it now and a stock carpet will not work. I did all the rest of the
interior myself. I see now where the guy that I was interested in buying
his white Hornet said he had 15,000$ in his car. All it needed to be
finished was a rear bumper and it's assorted parts. I have them. He
tried to buy them from me as he said he had been looking for them for
3-4 years. I said NO!!!! I would however put them on his car if he sold
it to me. :-)

Hey, this one didn't sell either! The seller wanted more than the 2K.
Auction ended with 'reserve not met'. I wonder sometimes about padded
bidding on eBay. That guy is now probably negotiating a sale offline
without having to pay the closing auction seller's fee. -Lu-
