The spoiler looks nice but forget about the black hood. Also spread the driveing lights out so they are under the turn signal lights in the grill.

I like the idea of the front spoiler but hanging the driving lights so close
together makes the front end look out of balance. The lights would look better
if they were further apart and "frenched" into the spoiler or front valance.
If you want a black hood, at least continue the paint scheme up to the
windshield or over the top of the car. Even better, have a wide stripe instead of
the black hood.

The idea wasn't to make it look 'factory', so
frenching them in at the outer ends was too
'normal' of a look...every production cars
with a spoiler and lights does that.
The idea here was a 70s endurance road racer.
Flat black hood to reduce glare, auxiliary
driving lights centered on the bumper to
concentrate more light dead ahead. If you look
at the old films of Sebring and such, you'll see
a lot of these types of mods...tho I'll concede
I did put the lights TOO close...there should be
8-12" between them....more like the attached pic.
As for black elsewhere, that would be a permanent
mod that can't be undone in minutes. I'm sticking
to wheels, lights and unboltable body panels for
this scenario.

Here is a tidbit for you, according to the American Motors Dealers
Merchandising Aids binder (what, you don't have one?) a dealership could
order all sorts of goodies from AMC for their customers like decals, desk
sets ($8) like AM logoed ashtrays $11.25) , cermaic mugs $5.75) , even those
big 3ft X 5ftAMC dealership flags I reproduced ($12), Levi's apro, tote
bag, portfolio, shoulder bag, address book, bike bag, in real blue demin,
only $2.50 each. You could get Oleg Cassini gasses, smoked dark with
'Cassini' etched on them, very beautiful (what you don't have any these
either?) for $6.00 for a set of 8.
Since this is a Gremlin (mostly) list, a Gremlin 'man' tie tac were $1.00;
those bright Gremlin stickers of the little fellow, in green or red, were
$6.00 for 100 of them with a minimun order of 100; a Gremlin patch was .10
cents each and you had to order 100; Gremlin key chains, not the cheesy
Taiwan ones sold on ebay, but these are a circle with the Gremlin 'man' in
them, ......silver or gold..... .75 cents each; Gremlin bracelet $15.0 each,
Gremlin brooch $1 each, Gremlin necklace only .75 each and these were
identical to the key chain, very nice, Gremlin sweatshirt in white, or gray,
$2.50 each, these had the Gremlin 'man' on them with "AMC: I LOVE GREMLINS"
below it super cool, and I have never seen one, maybe I'll reproduce them
have a great tshirt guy here in Houston.
Going to face Mr. Trump make a impression with your Gremlin cuff links,
$2.50 a pair, and came in either silver or gold. Gremin glasses, high
quality smoked glass, 15 ov, great for tequila, set of 8 only $6.00; and
every now and then you see a inflatable Gremlin pink blow up doll on ebay,
these were 24 inches tall, and only $1.00 each. I won't go into the tie
tack,s sport steering wheel watches (I tried to reproduce these, they are
identical to the three spoke steering wheel on many 71-up AMC, deal fell
thru, maybe in a couple years; try again), AMC NASCAR Matador poster, 4 for
$1.00; AMC racing team jackets, AMC snowmobile jacket (never seen one of
these either); $22 each; AMC golf clubs, rulers, and whatnot, this is a 50
page book to help dealerships and 95% of this stuff is seldom seen anymore.
Rarely seen when new too I guess in 1974.
So with that in mind, one of the pages is a full size photo showing 8 1974
Hornet hatchbacks. Below it reads: "1974 Hornet Hatchback model car; 1
1:24th scale model replica of the popular selling Hornet Hatchback, use as
gifts or giveaways.........$19.50 per dozen.
I thought of selling this Merchandising Aids binder a few years ago but
didn't as I use it as a reference guide for times like this. But all of this
stuff is worth collecting and pops up from time to time not only at major
AMC nationals, but also at garage sales in and around Kenosha, and of course
ebay. The most valuable is the jewelry and office stuff now. Good luck,

I've recently acquired one 73 and one 74 myself. Like you, the 74
will become a red X as in the James Bond flick. The 73 will duplicate
my current 360 X. I don't feel guilty about the 74, tho, as it was
previously 'detailed' with silver paint by someone else...so
it's 'collectible' status is already shot in the arse. The 73...well,
that's supposed to be 'mint'...we shall see when it arrives.

Hi Jeff, this is a easy one, go to any auto parts srote and look under the red boxes and bags titled "Help!" and there are several types of these, simply take one of yours off and go match it up, I believe I used the pink onesd last time but there are gray and white ones too, don't really know the difference here, but again, if you have one of yours, simply hold it up and match it up, real cheap under $5.00.

Hi. I just recently bought a 1974 Hornet 2-door with the 232c.i. 6 cylinder in it and it had only 57103 original miles for 500 dollars. The body is in excellent condition except for a small section on the drivers side that is a little messed up. The trim that runs down that side is also messed up. The front seat was totally ruined but the back seat was in near mint condition. No A/C, No pwr steering or brakes and only an AM radio. But I love it.
I was wondering if you had any trim to go along the left side of the body or if by chance, the small circular hornet hood emblem. The one I have is so messed up, you cant even see the hornet anymore. Also, do you happen to have any tan door panels that are in good condition? The car is an ugly copper/gold color with tan interior.

Hey John isn't this Hornet the color combo of your car? My orange car
has that ugly tan interior. I wonder if it is an automatic? It seems to
be your basic no option stripper. The only side molding I ever saw on a
