The Levi's interior was used until 1978, 100 AMXs had them in last year, don't know how many, if any, Gremlin sported that option. Most of the 78 AMX's did not appear blue, but black for some reason, I have always thought it was a supplier problem, but do not know, maybe someone can elaborate further on this. For those of you who have a Levi's Gremlin, Hornet, or Concord, the seat material is commonly found at hobby stores like hobby Lobby, Michael's, even Wal Mart. You can buy rolls of it. Very sturdy stuff similiar to original which was not original demin. You can also buy those little Levi's buttons too at these stores, makes for a easy task to redo your seats, and door panels. The factory Press Photo enclosed here shows the Levi's interior in the upper left. Would be a nice photo if not for the disco dork looking at the chick. If you can get past the blonde, note the roofline, which is a Gremlin. Eddie Stakes www.planethoustonamx.com *Volume of email is HEAVY. Reply times currently 12-30 days. It bleeds blue. Look at the color difference between a brand new pair of Levis and a pair that has been washed several times. My brother-in-law liked the AMC Levis interiors so much that he made a set of snap-on seat covers for his Ford Econoline work van with real cotton denim from the fabric store. If anyone wearing a light color pair of pants rode for any length of time in that van the pants started to turn blue. Jerry was a painter, and usually wore those white or unbleached natural cotton painter's pants or overalls. After a few months all of his work pants had blue butts. After he finally took the seat covers off and washed them a few times, they shrank so much that they almost wouldn't go back on the seats.
