AMC Hurst Competition Shifter Bulletins, this applies to all four speed 
AMCs.

Don't take apart your shifter. And DON'T do like I did in 1979 and leave 
hood DOWN whereas air cleaner left nasty dent. Live & learn, simply went to 
a junkyard in Corpus Christi and bought another ram air hood for $50.
