I'm REALLY familiar with those models, and now Tom J is too! Tom's documented a lot about them on his website -- http://www.wps.com/AMC/. Point the guy there, and I've sure you pointed him to the AMC-List and www.amcyclopedia.org. Feel free to give him my e-mail address also.

?stopped at my favorite local mechanic this saturday and
there was a '62 Rambler American in his lot.

body & interior were in? fairly good unrestored shape,? no radio,
3 on the column, hub caps all there.

a fellow recently purchased it and is having the mechanic? help
him get going in the restoration.???

he asked and i gave him several AMC web sites and various
info for parts etc.?? so one more in the AMC 'club'.
