Re: [AMC-list] 1978 258 in to an 85 J-10

Apparently spline count, diameter, and length are the same for the SR4 and T176
that are connected to the 2 engines. I left the manifolds attached to the
exhaust in the truck while I'm pulling the engine - it seems easier than trying
to unhook the exhaust from the manifold. The 78 engine would have fit with it's
rear sump but the engine in the truck is centre sump and the exhaust pipe passes
right where the rear sump would be so I guess I'll be swapping pans and
pick-ups, after a good cleaning. There was hardly any coolant in the radiator
and the oil pan is really full so it looks like I have holed the water jackets
inside.
