 We had a Rambler Club outing yesterday and Todd drove his 65 Classic with 287 
auto down from the Sacramento area yesterday.   I had one of those carbs and I 
thought of this thread but didn't take the time to get the list number off of 
the carb.  sorry.

It's a Holley model 2209. List numbers are 3305 for standard, 3304 automaitc, 
3388 for all with "Air Guard" (CA emissions cars). The numbers Joe gave must be 
AMC or Holley part numbers... I got the model and list numbers from the 66 TSM.

If you need to get a carb I'd get a new Holley 2300 500 cfm 2V for it. Even the 
350 cfm 2300 would be a good economy carb for it. The smaller venturiis give 
better throttle response and low speed torque, but would start to "run out of 
breath" over 4000 rpm. The stock 4V was only around 450 cfm, but you can't 
directly compare 2V and 4V cfm because different pressures were used for rating.

To convert a 2V rating to the 4V rating divide the 2V rating by 1.414 (the 
square root of 2). So the 500 cfm 2V would be roughly equivalent to a 354 cfm 
4V. So the 500 cfm 2300 would still be a bit smaller than the stock 4V. The 
Holley 2209 that AMC used is believed to be in the 250-300 cfm range, so the 350 
cfm 2300 would be a good step up from that.

What 2brl carb did AMC use in 66 for the low compression 327?  I may just
use the 4brl and intake from the 327 in the car now but just wondering.
