---- From: Sandwich Maker <adh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx " From: Bruce Griffis <bruce.griffis@xxxxxxxxx> " " Would my starter motor work? dunno. Bruce, There might be an interference between the external solenoid on your 195.6 starter and the later bellhousing or the firewall near the starter. I had such a problem on my 64 Classic recently when I substituted the later bellhousing from a 1968 199 into my Classic. Mind you, the Classic had the 232 transplanted into it using fabricated motor mount supports by a previous owner, so he may have just positioned the engine a little too high. I solved it by using a fenderwell mounted solenoid like the later AMCs and used the later starter. If you do have a conflict with the starter, the problem will be easy to solve.
