Try a JW Air Bell and a K&N filter lid. thats about the same height as the carb 
top. Worked great on my 401 but not sure they make an air bell to fit the 
webers?

Always thought a firechicken setup offset to the drivers side would be cool!
I can send you a router bit if needed!
