The bellhousing bolt pattern is the same between 1964 and 1966 and the 64 model 
196 should be compatible.

I have a 66 with a 232 that needs to be rebuilt but I found a 196 from a 64 
American. Will the 196 bolt to my 232 if they both had 3 speed O/D tranys?
