That's exactly the reason, Davis.  I can pick up a BUILT 350 on CL for under 
$2000, to keep it a driver.  To build and swap in the AMC V8 I'd want to run, 
I'd be looking at $5000 for the engine and tranny combo.

Yeah, I prefer it to have an AMC V8, but since I am not restoring this Lowrider 
to race, but rather to just drive, I'll just keep the Chevy engine in there for 
now.
