[AMC-list] 258 Engine Vibration over 2000 RPM

So my son's 88 Eagle has a very harsh engine vibration.  We haven't had it too
long, but I did the MtrCrft Large Cap, plugs, wires and Nutter bypass.  It
starts and idles excellently but when you goose the gas, it has a shudder that
goes through the whole car.  When I am driving down the highway, I can put it in
nuetral and goose it with similar results.

I am hoping it is not the flywheel or dampener.  I have triple checked the
firing order, adjusted the timing (after the bypass), locked out the carb pins
and made sure all the wires were plugged tight.

I remembered tonight a V8 swap I did for an old fellow (had a 258 J10 T176, I
dropped in a 360/727 from a Waggie had had sitting).  For a couple of months he
would call and say how it was running great and suddenly iy would start coughing
missing, shaking and the plug gaps would be gone on a plug or two.  I determined
he had carbon buildup that was dining around the cylinders in occasion and
flatting out the plugs.  Some Sea Foam, ATF through the carb (lot's of smoke!)
and a MotorVac seemed to clear it up.

I am going to pull the plugs tomorrow and see what I can find.

In the interim, any other ideas?  I am dreading the potetnial of a bad Trq
cnvrtr, but am open to suggestions.

Thanks and have a great weekend,

Jesse
