Here's a couple of links about a Toyota T100 pickup, which the owner 
modified for better aerodynamics and less wind drag.  He netted about 
28% improvement with these mods and on a truck with 200K on it.

One of the mags (maybe Motor trend?) did a test on this quite a few years ago. 
They took a Pinto and tried several different mods to see which affected fuel 
economy the most. The winner (by a large amount) was,,, a front end air dam!!
