By the mid 80s, yeah American cars started to come around in quality. That is why I argue that cars in the 90s were as good or better than the Jap stuff, and still are. People who don't know cars think we are still building cars like it was 1980. Unfortunately AMC stayed with the same practices until its end.
That said, my 83 Concorde is as dependable as any car out there in the parking lot. Its got a few more rattles than them all, but it is also the oldest.....Russ
