you might be able to swap a m12 or fmx in without much more work than
swapping the tt adapter, and if you poke about you might still be able
to get a towing-and-rv/police-and-taxi fmx.

the big lincoln mx used with 430s and 462s in their 6000lb monsters
looks like it'd bolt to the 327, but it's longer than the
fx/fmx/m-series.  and it's even rarer.

was it you that had a jeep 327 th400?  adapting to the tt would be the
challenge, but maybe starting with a 4x4 t/c adapter...
