Ah yes, Mr. Sandwichmaker, you are so correct with your terminology,
I was experiencing brain fade when I was writing my post and could not make
myself
come up with the correct words.

My experience with the Ford T5 is that the bearing retainer was larger in
diameter than the
AMC multi bell. My multi bell came from a 79 Spirit AMX with an SR4 four
speed. I bought
a steel retainer from Hanlon Motorsports. He was or John Elle was the one
that suggested getting a steel retainer
because the factory aluminum retainer was noted for deep grooves appearing
and then the disc
could hang up/make noise, things like that. If I remember correctly, the SR4
bearing retainer also
would fit on the T5 as they are sort of derived from the same idea, but it's
aluminum too.

Good advice about the pilot bearing, and you are correct, that one was easy
to solve, I paid attention
to what John Elle had to say about the swap, and went to the local NAPA and
pulled the bearing off
their shelf, went home and figured out I needed a pilot bearing puller,
which I found, but others have said it's
possible to remove the pilot bearing using grease and forcing it out with
pressure somehow.

I have several years and possibly up to 6000 miles on my swap, and so far no
troubles. The "5.0" T5 likes being
in my Javelin just fine.........and I like it being there, it was such an
easy swap and I enjoyed the heck out of doing
the work.
I found a B & M pro shifter for it and it makes the whole thing look killer.
