Re: [AMC-list] Used Springs



I'm gonna make one of those fixtures for my shop press. I was thinking of using a large diameter section of steel pipe with a cap but I would have to scrounge something from work, where we have lots of scrap metal.  The angle iron would be much easier to source and I have a mig welder.

Joe, 
I don't know if you have seen this album of my accesory for compressing the springs in a shop press, I have a HF 12 ton. There's also a skecth of how I someday plan to extend the throw of my press as the current throw is a bit to short and you have to start the compression with the generic outside compressors, which really scare the crap out of me with those tall narrow springs.
  I can't say enough good things about Garry's tools.
