ROFL @ MATT!!!! i would be to mad there is a 401 sittin in my livingroom
rather than in casper. lol. SOMEDAY when i get a bit of time, i will pull the
heads and pan, and see REALLY how bad it is inside. HOPEFULLY the block, crank
and heads atleast will be salvageable. from what i understand (i dont know the
gen II/III v8's at all) those are the main parts that are 401 specific. i can
get a new cam, pistons, rods, timing set ect pretty easy. also need to find a
good timing cover/oil pump. nonexistant here. bulltear has one that looks
good, but WAY out of this guys budget. im not even looking for tranny now
after seeing this motor. it will be a couple years till this thing is even
THINKING about firing again, that is if it is even fireable again. ;-/
