i'm old enough to recall whan -real- real linoleum came in -9"-
squares, not 12" vinyl.

cutting and fitting it would be a headache, but why not sheet vinyl?
no joints/seams to leak...  if you search for it, iirc you can still
get battleship linoleum, in grey - wears like iron.
