Shoulda looked in the iron pile first, and umm in the car.

My 1963 195.6 OHV has a Delco Remy starter, not Autolite. It's the style
with the integral solenoid, stands way off the case on the nose casting, it
has two terminals, big and little. Turns out I have 2, 3 of them, I don't
intentionally save junk cores so once upon a time I deemed them
usable/rebuildable. I thought I had a '62 TSM here at work, but I musta
taken it home. I'm curious about this Autolite vs. Delco business. Maybe the
higher compression/OHV engine simply needs a bigger starter.

My '70 232 also has a Delco Remy, but it uses an external solenoid. It's
just a starter motor with a low lump on the side and a single big terminal.
I have a couple of these too. Not sure what became of starters in the modern
era (eg. post-71).



FYI: The noses of the two look alike but are not interchangable, the bolt
hole distance is about 3/16" - 1/4" different.
