I just have an old Stewart Warner Stage III gauge and some line. 
   It was a high end mechanical gauge in its day. Now it matches nothing on the market. 
    I'm betting you got some tiny little piece of crud from the overhaul that broke loose and plugged the sender. Have you pulled it and looked for that?

I see they carry one and there's one close to me but my rule of thumb 
with them is if something really matters, go someplace else. They do 
have some decent stuff for sure but they also have way too much crap and 
this test will tell me if I need to pull the engine or not so I'd rather 
spend the extra money (I found a place that can get one today) and make 
sure the test is valid.
