On the Edelbrock manny for my 258, they supplied me with some "doo dads" (for lack of the proper term) that allowed me to tighten the exhaust bolts of the short shoulder of the eddy manny along with the long shoulder of the stock exhaust.
You might contact Edelbrock and discuss the problem or email me  and I can send you a scale drawing of the ones I have for my Edelbrock manny.
By the way, I replaced all of the bolts with studs, that way I can reach everything easily. Those bottom 4 bolts are a pain to get to...Russ
