Re: [AMC-list] lumber in a non-decorative place

I found a pair of those wooden supports under the carpet of my 1979 AMX,
on either side of the axle hump (presumably to provide a flat expanse
when the rear seat backs are folded down). My 1982 Spirit had plastic
versions.

As far as non-decorative lumber, if you ever get a chance to look under
a current Morgan, they still use plywood for at least the trunk floor.
And in one of the current hi-po Corvettes (Z06, ZR1?), they use balsa
wood sandwiched between carbon fiber for the floors.

My 1980 Spirit had a wooden support and chipboard cover for the
mini-spare stored flat in the cargo area of the hatchback.

I suspect all hatchback Spirits had this cover so that would have
continued until when? 1983?
