The idiot lights are probably deactivated when the factory gauge package is installed.  It would require two separate oil pressure sensors for example and I can't see stingy old AMC putting two separate sensors on the engine.  Look down on the block and you will probably only see the one sensor down near the oil pump I believe.

I have never owned a Javelin or AMX with a gauge package so I don't know for sure.
