Brazing used to be a common way to do that kind of repair before Mig 
welders were available. It doesn't look like it lines up well with the 
trunk lid so I'd assume it took a pretty good hit there at some point in 
the past. I think I'd go for a full quarter if possible. What does the 
wheel well look like? If it's mangled, I'd think about replacing it too.

As far as sources go, are you a member of the AMC Rambler Club? A want 
ad there will probably turn one up. Also, I've had good luck with used 
metal from South Texas AMC.
