One in near perfect condition sold at auction, I think the Mecum "57 Heaven" auction. at around $28,000. So the owner is still about double the price the car should bring. I have to tell ya, the $28K price tag for a 58 Ambassador wagon was a shocker! That's AMX territory...

I agree with you on how people get upset that they can't get what they want so crush/junk a car instead of getting what they can. I think part of the thought process is that you're trying to pull a fast one and get the car cheap then make money off it later. They'd rather "kill" it than let someone take advantage of them!

On the other hand, if anyone wants an almost perfect near-new car, there ya go.  I must admit, it is a looker.  But $50 large dropped in my lap wouldn't get spent on that car.
